Gotha public baths

The historic public baths in the heart of the former ducal seat of Gotha were reopened in April 2014 after four years of extensive renovation and modernisation work. Today it is among the most modern and beautiful baths and sauna complexes in Central Germany.

Built in the late Art Nouveau period, the extended building is an architectural gem. The historic Art Nouveau baths have been carefully integrated into a spa complex that meets all the requirements of modern swimming and saunas. For example, thanks to the new extension, the baths now have a 25 m sports swimming pool with six lanes and spectator gallery, a separate swimming lesson pool and a paddling pool for small children. A diving platform with 1 m and 3 m diving height complete the generous offer.

It’s not just sporty swimmers who get their money’s worth here though – a spacious sauna area in the largely originally preserved historical rooms and the Art Nouveau pool with integrated bubble loungers and massage seats
offer wellness and relaxation in a unique setting. A variety of infusions with totally different fragrances pamper the body and mind. Anyone who wants to enjoy a massage can book this at the baths. A sauna bar and the pool bistro provide water babies and sauna fans with drinks and snacks.
