Day trip destinations

You need 45 minutes to walk to the local recreation area up the Krahnberg from the city centre where the Bürgerturm association has built a viewing tower, the so-called Bürgerturm, with donations from Gotha’s citizens.

It is worth climbing the 158 steps as you are rewarded with a unique panoramic view: The Thuringian Forest with striking Inselsberg extends to the south, on the other side you can see over Gotha as far as the Ettersberg near Weimar and with good visibility even as far as the Brocken to the north.

Who can I ask?
