Erfurt’s egapark, also called “Thuringia’s garden”, is one of Germany’s large garden and recreational parks and represents the long horticultural tradition in Erfurt, the city of flowers. With an average 500,000 visitors a year, egapark is among the most popular sights in Thuringia and combines numerous show and themed gardens, glasshouses and lots of great offers for families, like the German horticulture museum which is unique in Germany and Europe. Special highlights are Europe’s largest ornamental planted flowerbed, the cherry blossom in the Japanese garden and the tropical butterfly house. egapark is one of three locations for the national garden show in 2021.
